Diet for hair loss

Proper nutrition to the body is one of the salient points to be noted to prevent hair loss. The diet for hair loss should necessarily be well-balanced and nourishing with plenty of B Vitamins, iron, minerals, and water. Having a fruit diet for hair loss would include fruits such as apples, oranges, melons, bananas, cherries etc. Green leafy vegetables, liver, eggs, dates raisins etc. provide the body with the necessary amounts of folic acid that is essential in the diet for hair loss. Whole grains, nuts, sprouts can also be included in a diet for hair loss. Last but not the least is the eight glasses of water to be consumed everyday that will help wash off the toxicity from the body. There is a strong indication that a deficiency of vitamin D levels and hair loss problems are interlinked as per research conducted on mice. Though this fact has not been corroborated on humans it appears that there is a connection between vitamin D levels and hair loss. Leg and arm hair loss may be found to occur in some persons due to various reasons such as a hormonal imbalance. The patient will have to resort to medical help to identify the cause and seek appropriate treatment.
Preventing hair loss

It is indeed frustrating to see more hair lying on the floor, bathtub, and pillow rather than on the head that appears to be gradually scantier. Preventing hair loss is a process that must be started as soon as early symptoms of hair loss are noticed. The first and foremost steps to preventing hair loss would be to maintain a healthy scalp by using a gentle and mild shampoo on alternate days. It is safer to use wide-teethed soft-bristle combs rather than the tightly packed ones. Do not comb the hair when it is wet and better to allow it to dry naturally rather than using a dryer. The diet consumed must be nutritious enough in preventing hair loss and comprise the right amounts of protein, low-fat, vitamins and minerals. Avoiding pollutants, harsh chemical treatments, strong medications etc. are few other requirements for preventing hair loss. Unlike men, women suffering from hair loss will mostly notice a diffuse thinning of scalp hair loss all around. In most cases female scalp hair loss occurs due to androgenetic alopecia. However complete baldness does not happen in female scalp hair loss. Other types of scalp hair loss are trichotillomania, Telogen effluvium, Alopecia areata etc.
